Mr. President, When Should I Expect Your Call?

Bristol Palin is following the fighting spirit of her famous “Mama” Grizzly!  On her blog (March 19, 2012), she wrote a very compelling message to the President.

".... Dear President Obama,

You don’t know my telephone number, but I hope your staff is busy trying to find it. Ever since you called Sandra Fluke after Rush Limbaugh called her a slut, I figured I might be next. You explained to reporters you called her because you were thinking of your two daughters, Malia and Sasha. After all, you didn’t want them to think it was okay for men to treat them that way:
“One of the things I want them to do as they get older is engage in issues they care about, even ones I may not agree with them on,” you said. “I want them to be able to speak their mind in a civil and thoughtful way. And I don’t want them attacked or called horrible names because they’re being good citizens.”

And I totally agree your kids should be able to speak their minds and engage the culture. I look forward to seeing what good things Malia and Sasha end up doing with their lives.

But here’s why I’m a little surprised my phone hasn’t rung. Your $1,000,000 donor Bill Maher has said reprehensible things about my family. He’s made fun of my brother because of his Down’s Syndrome. He’s said I was “f—-d so hard a baby fell out.” (In a classy move, he did this while his producers put up the cover of my book, which tells about the forgiveness and redemption I’ve found in God after my past – very public — mistakes.)

If Maher talked about Malia and Sasha that way, you’d return his dirty money and the Secret Service would probably have to restrain you. After all, I’ve always felt you understood my plight more than most because your mom was a teenager. That’s why you stood up for me when you were campaigning against Sen. McCain and my mom — you said vicious attacks on me should be off limits.

Yet I wonder if the Presidency has changed you. Now that you’re in office, it seems you’re only willing to defend certain women. You’re only willing to take a moral stand when you know your liberal supporters will stand behind you.

But…
What if you did something radical and wildly unpopular with your base and took a stand against the denigration of all women… even if they’re just single moms? Even if they’re Republicans?

I’m not expecting your SuperPAC to return the money. You’re going to need every dime to hang on to your presidency. I’m not even really expecting a call. But would it be too much to expect a little consistency? After all, you’re President of all Americans, not just the liberals.

DANGER AHEAD, OBAMACARE

Obamacare, or the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), is a dangerous law which has been imposed on the American people.  It is the final blow in a series of laws that have been steadily inflicted on Americans for the past 20 years.  These laws have slowly taken away the liberty of all of us, and the irony of it is the means by which this oppression has occurred.  It’s called DUMMY DOWN.

Let’s review the recent history of American medicine.  Most of you likely remember our traditional means of health care, because it wasn’t too long ago that PRIVATE PRACTICE was our way of getting better when we got sick.  We had a special process called the DOCTOR PATIENT RELATIONSHIP that was its foundation.  Everything seemed to fall into place.  Either the doctor was able to handle the problem in his or her office or was able to utilize the hospital or other referrals to get you better.  There was trust and you recognized that you were getting the best health care possible.  Although at times costly, you recognized that the payment you or your catastrophic health insurance company was paying was well worth the services you received. Goodwill flowed.  Things were PRIVATE.

It was 1992, the year that MANAGED CARE took over, that the DUMMY DOWN process began.  In that year, your health insurance companies, who paid claims for your higher cost treatments (example the admission, surgery and 4 or 5 day stay in a hospital), and I might add responsibly, as they were required to do, changed their vocation.  Health insurance companies, with the aid of contract law and the federal government, became ADMINISTRATORS of health care.  What we as physicians and you as patients didn’t recognize is that this new entity, which was before a simple means of exchange of money for services, bullied their way into a leadership role over you and me.  The DUMMY DOWN had begun, and the propaganda used was based in humanitarianism. These administrators craftily pitched decreased cost and increased quality for you, the patient.

How did our federal government assist in all of this?  First of all, they allowed it.  It was all about crooked big business, lobby and legislators. Most of us have a sense of that nowadays.  But a second and crucial aspect of the assistance relates to a law passed in 1989 called the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act, with emphasis on physician reimbursement, activated in 1992, that dealt the final blow.  In simple terms, this law set a price on a doctor’s head, the fee that Medicare would allow for services rendered to a patient by a physician, without the input of the physician!

This law in conjunction with the legal and binding administrative function of managed care organizations (all of them!) are the agents of socialized medicine.  We have been at this for 20 years.  In this period of time, between 1992 and 2012, Medicare has continued to cut payment for physicians and hospitals drastically.  The managed care organizations (health care providers) have cut payment way deeper than Medicare.  Doctors were forced to join hospital staffs, fee for service is gone, private practice is gone, the doctor patient relationship is gone, and DUMMY DOWN is alive and well. These administrators tell doctors what to do and how to do it.  They know nothing about the practice of medicine and surgery and what is safest for patients and could care less.  NO LIE!

Have The Politicians Fund Entitlements

During this election year Governor Jerry Brown, President Obama and their left wing socialist progressive supporters are demanding more “Entitlements” for their voter base. Maybe we can help.

Most of us wouldn’t mind how many or what kind of entitlement programs our politicians implemented if we weren’t expected and ultimately forced to pay for the ones we don’t want and  won’t benefit from.

One thought is to let state, congressional and presidential candidates campaign for all the social and corporate welfare programs they like. But instead of allowing the state and federal governments to appropriate our income to pay for a seemingly endless number of special interest entitlements, we should expect these candidates to bankroll their own programs. If a candidate really cares so much about his constituents that he’s  willing to spend other people’s money on funding special interest programs, he/she should be willing to spend his/her own money once elected on helping them. Past practice says that despite their overwhelming altruistic tendencies and allegiance to the less fortunate, most, if not all politicians, would not personally fund the entitlement programs they promoted that got them elected. Funny thing and I wonder why?

In addition, we could expect the people who vote for special interest entitlement programs to also fund them. The politicians who appeal to the most voters will win and, more importantly, likewise will only be able to make good on the programs they’ve been sent to office to enact. In many respects the politicians will be forced to implement the most worthy of the entitlement programs but also begin operating like a private business. If they exhaust program funding due to their own incompetence, careless decisions or cronyism they’ll either have to abandon their programs or appeal to their supporters for additional  sponsorship.

Isn’t it way past time that consideration be given to controlling government support of special interest entitlement programs from taxes we are forced to pay and from which we rarely see any personal benefit for ourselves? Too often it is easier to be charitable with other people’s money i.e., our tax money. Have the politicians pony up some of their own cash along with some of that from their voter base and we’ll see funding stop going to worthless projects that show little or no return on investment.

Gallup reports unemployment at 9% for mid February 2012. By Todd Juvinall

I was shocked when I read this article from Gallup.  Didn't we just hear from the President how rosy things were becoming?  The last report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics said the rate dropped to 8.3% and the country was headed to prosperity.  What they didn't tell us though was 1.2 million of our fellow citizens dropped out ot the quest to find a job.  So,smaller pie of potential employees made for a smaller unemployment number.

We all knew the numbers were bogus from the government.  Yet the mainstream media to our chagrin kept reporting the lie of a lower number.  Thank goodness for the alternate media and FOX News.  Yet, the whole exercise is enough to make a American very sad.  I want anyone who wants to work, or needs to work for that matter, to have employment.  We don't want to see our fellow citizens suffer, but with a 99 week unemployment check and the uptick of disability claims we get to see the results of years of "cradle to grave" policies instituted by our caring legislators.  The economic chickens have come home to roost.

How is it 535 members of Congress can't repair the mess?  The fear of not being reelected is so great apparently that bankruptcy is a preferred alternative in our country at the present time.  How come we elect people that place our children into involuntary servitude of debt?  Do they know something we don't?  My guess is the debt will be tossed out at some point because it cannot be repaid and it is undermining our currency and our national security.  There is no way we can keep going as we are.  When you add the debt and the regulations spewed out by DC and Sacramento, we are all now indentured servants.  It seems to me we have fallen and can't get up!

So we all need to question the statistics and the numbers since little faith is available to our government sources.  These people gave away three trillion hard earned debt dollars to Solyndra type companies and friends of Barry, Harry and Nancy.  That money, errrr, debt, gained nothing for the country.  Of course the Federal Reserve has been printing new dollars but in a short while that will lead to terrible inflation and the people will be hosed once more.  The smartest people on the planet, well, that is how they describe themselves, have put our country at terrible risk of default.  With these high gasoline rices and the cost of food on the rise as well, the folks the politicians say they really care about (they never care about the rich), the middle class and the poor, are actually the people getting trounced by them.

So what to do with all this information?  Be sceptical.  Question the powers that be.  Don.t fall for the slogans of the left.  Vote out the people putting you in slavery and replace them with freedom loving Americans.  It is easy to do if you really care about the country.

I was emailed by someone who reviews the different leftwing blog sites for content and that person has finally been bored into a bag.  The left is so predictable and uneducated in life the person told me, that they have driven into a ditch and can't get out.  I must say I have to agree.

While people on the right are working and supporting themselves and their families with legitimate endeavors, these posters on the lefty sites are busy sitting in front of their computer screens (probably donated by a non-profit) and spewing ridiculous tripe all day long.  Now, I really don't care what these scofflaws have to say other than they could be affecting the young people who are still naive.  What makes these leftwing folks tick?  A government check it appears.

One half of Americans receive some form of money from the government and my guess is these local bloggers and posters (they all appear to be undr 60) are part of that 50%.  How else could one explain their comments attacking business, entrepreneurs and non-union companies?  When I listen to them at the podium in Congress or the lectern in Sacramento, I am struck by thew nastiness they exhibit against the people who truly make America work and who employ the folks.  These lefty bloggers and their heroes trash America at every turn, they have nothing to say other than screeching against our system.  Where in the heck did their standard of living come from?  Did it get created out of thin air?  No, people who DO made it possible for these ingrates to have an IPOD, a big screen and even a loaf of bread.

What is this self hatred I continually hear from these people.  Anyone who achieves other than their friends the regulators) are the targets of their hate and nasty words.  How did America's left get so mean?  I think it is envy.  Some posters on leftwing blogs must be leading some very sad lives.  Simply to be born into America is a lottery win yet these people just complain constantly.  America is bad, corporations are bad, taxes are good (as long as they are exempt) . Please people on the left, you need to get a life.  America is better, much better, perhaps the greatest, yes the greatest, country the earth has ever seen.  You all need to get on board the train of positive.  We will welcome you if you want to change your ways and your views to reflect the good of our country.  Come over and try it.  It is cathartic! Even your health will improve.

HERE is the articlen the Sacramento Bee.  We have lunatics running the asylum. Bill Manning, democrat nut from Carmel is the author.  hen we read this we could not stop laughing but unfortunately this nut from Carmel is serious.  If anyone had any doubts about the lefts desire for a total nanny state, this should clear things up.  We say the biggest threat to the kids in our schools are these leftwing nannies.  Let us recommend the orange circles on the map be "democrat legislator free zones".  Then the state's children would really be safer.

Good luck on the parks closure but the anger is misdirected

According to the Union newspaper this morning a gaggle of people, many children included, will descend on the Capitol in Sacramento to present a petition with 10,000 signatures.  These people will also voice their displeasure in the closing of the two parks here in Nevada County.  We say "good luck".  If you all are successful in changing the outcome, more power to you.

We see the problem and the solution a bit different but desire the same outcome.  The question should be, "how can a bunch of democrats controlling our state (for fifty years) be so incompetent to allow a $29 million segment out of a $90 billion budget to happen?"  We shake our heads in amazement.  What we have come to understand in our politics in California is this, it makes no sense.  If the democrats can't find 1/3 of 1% within the budget they have control of, then our state is toast.

Parks, cops, firemen, libraries and other high visibility items are the things the politicians use to raise the "fear".  If we don't give these scofflaws more money, they will cut out the things we all like, that is always their strategy and it always works.  The people are hosed over and over again and the left running our state loves it.  We think these men and women sit in a room, smoking their cigars and chuckling about the knuckleheads we all are.  How they get away with the "fear" factor once again. 

What we don't understand is why the state has added so many "parks" and other government owned lands and then cuts the funding to allow the people to use them?  Is this not the best exemples of the dysfunction Sacramento has become?  Of course it is.  Yet year after year these people place more lands into the public domain and tell us how important they are for the "people" to enjoy and save for future generations.  Give us a break!

These Sacramento politicians continuously pass laws to force private property owners to do their bidding.  We have so many hoops to pass through to do anything with our own private property and they force us all to pay for the privilege of being regulated.  Look at General Plans, zoning ordinances, fees for a parcel spilt and even your property line fence heigth.  Check out the costs to Water boards, fire departments and now even the Calfire budget.  They are charging us all in the rural areas to fight fires yet leave the urban folks alone.  Those urban folks that come and enjoy our forests we get to pay to protect! One report states  "The new fee, if implemented as proposed, could raise $50 million in FY2011/12 and as much as $200 million annually thereafter, easing the strain on the state's general fund, although the general fund would still provide the majority of money for firefighting."

The fire fee alone would be sufficient many times over to pay for the parks wouldn't it?  Yet, in order to free up money to buy off their constituents in the urban areas, the democrats in Sacramento come after our pocketbooks.  Fee for service, what service?  It seems to us the passage of Prop 26 in November 2010 means nothing to these people, including the Governor.  They don't care what the people voted on the fees and tax issue, they will shove another one down the throats of the people.

This is what California has come to.  Our democrat controlled legislature locks up lands for parks and then overspends elsewhere and threatens to shut them all down.  They are unfit to run the place in  our opinion.  If they can't even find $29 million dollars in a 90 billion dollar budget to keep the very parks they are in charge ofopen?  They should all, well at least the democrats, resign and let people who can live up to our Constitution take their place.  They are a embarrassment that even the Greeks can mock.

On Ostriches and Sand

It is said that when ostriches are in fear, they bury their head in the sand. Now, I don’t know if that is actually true or not; I do know that it is an accurate description of the majority of Americans today. We stand on the threshold of losing our country to the Marxist, Socialist agenda and we refuse to even consider the evidence that is right in front of us. The Founding Fathers gave us fair warning over 230 years ago when they spoke and warned against international alliances, world banking, excessive debt and, yes, even giving up our well-documented Christian roots and heritage. Our Constitution is expressly clear as to what are the duties and responsibilities of the Federal government and states, unequivocally, that all the rest belong to the States and to we the people. We as a people have abdicated our responsibility to our families, to our children, to our educational system, to our State and Federal governments and to our Creator.

It is small wonder that when we elect unqualified people who lack character and principle to represent us that they serve not us or the nation but only themselves. Men of character with a firm foundation in what is right and what is wrong would never have coined the phrase “too big to fail”. They would never have agreed to $14 trillion of debt, they would not have created Fannie or Freddy in the first place, let alone bail them out; they would never force any bank, let alone the whole banking system, to loan money to those who could not pay it back and they would never take over private industry. The litany could go on but you get the point, I hope.

Why is it that the likes of Dick Durbin, Barney Frank and others of their ilk on both sides of the aisle are still in office and not in jail? By the way, have you noticed that the recession/depression has not in the least affected any member of Congress or their staff? All government workers are still employed at a salary that hasn’t gone down one wit. Does it bother anyone that this economic downturn has hurt only the private sector? Our Federal government has over-taxed and over-regulated our private sector to death and they show no signs of stopping. This also applies to our State and Local governments. As a writer friend of mine aptly put it, “the American Dream of owning your own business has changed to being employed by the government”. If you think about it, when President Putin of Russia said the United States was a parasitic nation, he was right. We buy more than we sell and we produce hardly anything. We live off the products of other countries. We are a parasitic nation. So, what to do?

I seem to make those liberals steam up, what a hoot!

Ever since I started paying attention to politics about the year 1978 or so, I have generated a cadre of leftwing critics.  I have been a fairly outspoken fellow over they years since it appears the mute don't accomplish much.  This personality trait was probably a DNA issue from my father's father.  He was a man who had no use for silence when he saw something wrong in the body politic.  He had an opinion on just about every politician and government program.  Growing up at the Juvinall compound on Highland Drive I became accustomed to his views and his style. Grandpa was a WW1 vet who served in France.

When I did jump into local politics in 1978, the "no-growth" people were trying to limit building permits to 100 per year for the county and had qualified two ballot initiatives to accomplish their aims.  I, along with many other locals came together to fight this and we were victorious by a huge margin.  What I learned then was the world belongs to those that show up, the left will attack you relentlessly (to keep you from showing up), they will lie and make up stories about you and will pick on your kids.  They also try to run you out of town even though it is the town you were born and raised in.  The battle between the newcomers and the oldtimers was beginning. (even though we natives welcomed them)

After running twice and winning for the the office of County Supervisor, I can tell you the left just can't help themselves when it comes to lying about those they dislike.  My position has always been a Constitutional, Bill of Rights kind of position, presently mirrored by the issues the Tea Party espouses.  I don't belong to their organization but they sure have a handle on what is right and wrong with the government.  I found that over the years, the left is always there, they never give up their desire to control.  They are very patient and we have seen the results of there dreams in our lives.

They have grown the government so much that every American in some way is now a lawbreaker.  There is a complex set of rules, modified and added to every year by do-gooders or busybodies in our government that is is almost impossible to do anything without their permission. And you have to pay a fee for that permission.  I have tried over the years to alert the folks to this growing monster of government and its regulations but those on the left knew they could accomplish their wishes with the old "boiling a frog" strategy.  They have done their job so well the country and our once great state has been brought to the brink of the apocalypse.

One small example of the changs the kids under the dome in Sacramento had to do with volunteer fire departments.  Nevada County had a number of districts manned by men and some women, who wanted to help their neighbors by being there to fight a fire or provide emergency help when someone had a incident.  In the mid 80's the state started changing the requirements and made these volunteers start getting more and more professional training.  That grew and grew (mainly through the demise of the "good Samaritan" laws, to become  a feat impossible for a carpenter or a schoolteacher to meet.  So, the state has over time gone to paid members and the once energetic people who helped their neighbors has been diminished to almost nothing.  Budgets grew to pay the firefighters and the EMT's and paramedics and the training requirements have been so stringent no volunteer can meet them.  We now have major budget issues in that part of our county life.

That is one example and there are thousands.  All cost money and all diminish personal freedoms in some way.  I usually spoke up and tried to alert people to these problems I could see coming down the pike.  Most of the time the powers that be would not listen and over time I was sad to see I was right in my predictions.  Of course during those times people that took a position against some of these things were branded as "that busy body, loudmouth, activists or right-wing extremist".  The critics always try to marginalize those who disagree when it comes from the right.  The press was usually a willing critic as well and we can see that today in their love of Obama.

Well, because I was not a wallflower I did become a constant target of these leftwing carpers.  They even created a play and had me as a character of evil when they ran it at the Nevada Theater twenty years ago.  When I created CABPRO in 1993 the local press editor had a personal problem with me and made my attempts to make CABPRO something good into something bad.  I shook my head that a organization created t keep government overreach in check would be viewed by the very institution in our First Amendment that was supposed to actually do it.  All because f a personal dislike.  I learned a lot.

Today I still have some carpers but they are like little flies you have to shoo away.  Some even draw cartoons of me, I am honored.  Some write lengthy articles about how they want me to be  and how I am supposed to act and what I should do and believe.  They are the true busybodies of the planet.  I was taught early on that people are who they are and probably won't change much, even though the left in this case wants them to change.  I say to them,look in the mirror if you dare, get your mind right, your weight down and take a nice pill, then maybe I and folks like me will listen.  Well, maybe not.

Now in 2012, I am still dealing with the carpers and it is usually becasue they are simply jealous.  I just can't understand how a warm and fuzzy person like me, a fellow who pets animals and loves my little grankids, could be so misinterpeted by these liberals.  Of course that is sarcasm, but it makes the point that no matter how well intentioned a person on the right is the left will attack and make itr personal.  I am a fact seeker and when I am attacked I ususally fight back with the facts.  The left fights with emotions.  It is the classic struggle between the sides and I am right there in the thick of it.  More to come.

California's Deep-Seated Budget Problems

Just as the sun rises and sets each day, California continues to spend more than it takes in each year.  It does not matter who the Governor is, who controls the Legislature or how the economy is performing - state government cannot control its spending and is constantly asking citizens like you for more money.

Many Californians believe that if the economy just got better, Sacramento's budget problems would disappear.  As I complete my third year in the State Assembly, I can say with confidence that this will not be the case.  An improved economy would only temporarily mask the long-term budget problems that are piling billions of debt on our children and grandchildren.

Now thanks to research from California Common Sense, a non-partisan organization created by Stanford University students and alumni to promote efficient governance, we have more data that confirms the obvious: California's overspending is systemic, not temporary.

The report, titled "The Top Five Issues Driving California's Overspending," succinctly states five major reasons why our state struggles to balance its books each year:
·  Institutional sprawl in the Executive Branch
·  Lack of coordination in Health and Human Services
·  Overspending on Prisons
·  Mismanagement of Education Funding
·  Pension-related Liabilities

The quick takeaway from the report is that the state wastes billions of dollars each year on unnecessary bureaucracy and mismanagement.  No surprise there, but what is different is that it brings together serious issues that can be understood without a Ph.D. in economics.  For example, why does California spend so much more per prisoner than comparable states like Texas?  Why does California have 530 institutions in its executive branch while other states have significantly less?
