I laughed my arse off, well, almost. I was down in San Jose visiting my daughter and had forgotten that President Obama was going to mae his campaign speech Tuesday night (paid for by the taxpayers of course). My daughter has two jobs and little spare time thanks to the Obama strategy of economics embraced by the urban areas of California. With Obama and Jerry Brown working closely to destroy the economy, it seems it won't be long until my daughter takes on a third job.
Her second job is as a bartender in a little corner bar in South San Jose. I was waiting for her to finish so we could meet the rest of the family for dinner. About 25 people, probably from the surrounding neighborhood, were there. It seems like a middle to lower income area and the fellows were wearing flannel shirts and the girls Levis. Not to diverse but after chatting with a few of them I bet most were democrats if they were voters at all. One fellow told me he just registered for the first time and he was fifty-two!.
The bar had three TV's on and the sound was turned down since the jukebox was on and blaring a Foreigner tune. One TV was a hockey game live broadcast, one the Third "Dirty Harry" movie and the last one was CBS. The CBS broadcast televised the "Fate of the Union" speech.
I moseyed to the back of the bar to watch who would watch the speech. There was not one person paying any attention! They were all interested in each other or playing pool. All were sipping on a cocktail or drinking a beer. I had to read the words on the bottom of the TV and that was interfered with the banner CBS stationed there. I did my best to read it but at 61 my reading ability regarding speed of reading has slowed down. I looked around throughout the speech and no one paid attention to Obama. My thoughts were "golly, I hope they don't vote!". Well, they probably will and they will probably vote for him and they will have no idea what they are voting for. We know Obama is our American version of "dictator" since he seems to have interpreted our Constitution as only as important as toilet paper.
His speech was a rehash of the last two he has made and there was just hot air coming from his mouth. It is as if he is living in an alternate universe and his hubris is massive. He still blames Bush for goodness sakes. What that says to me is he is very immature as a person and his bloviating on every aspect of his policies is unreal. How could he think we were so stupid to believe anything he says? Well, I saw it first hand at the bar. The people there don't care. They of course will care if their job goes away or the unemployment check stops, but looking around that night, I saw the real problem our country is in.
Many people have tuned out to the bloviators running the show. How they got this way and why they are ignorant of current events and politics is most likely caused by the the lack of education about those topics in our schools. From top to bottom our people are being shortchanged and dumbed down to become these uninterested people about the system and the founding documents and what it all means. Instead, they may pay attention in November at a 35% level and the rest will be out having a cocktail and chatting with their friends at the local bar. That is because that is the most important thing to them and unfortunately that will be their demise.
Overall, Obama is a one termer if the Republicans can convince the small number of voters who may turnout that they are the answer to the nations woes. Judging by the slobbering love affair the mainstream media has for the "bloviator in chief" it will be a hard battle to win but win the country must.
