The 2,000 member Tea Party Patriots in our little county have a new President and it is Nancy Garcia. Please read the Union Newspaper article HERE. I have met Nancy a couple of times and I think she will do a fine job. What is they say? If you want something done, have a woman do it and it will get done. I think she is motivated to push for the ideas and policies of the Tea Party and I say more power to her and the TPP.
The TPP has been attacked relentlessly by the loony left and the press. They have tried to do to the TPP what they did to Sarah Palin and Herman Cain and other conservative people and organizations. The Koch Brothers and now Bain Capital are the latest targets of the leftwing but as we have seen, the TPP has prevailed and maintained their composure. I recall when the Pelosi and Reid folks tried to spin a series of lies bout the TPP. Remember "astro turf"? Turns out it was the democrats who were the "astro Turf" proponents. How about the lie some TPP people were trying to spit on a black Congressman when they and Pelosi marched across the grass to deliver the giant gavel and celebrate their democrat only vote for Obamacare? There have been many lies by the left but none have stuck.
The reason they don't stick is becasue as usual, the left just plain lies and the truth will out, as they say. Andrew Breitbart offered $100,000 for proof of "spitgate" and lo and behold, none was ever submitted, not even a "photdshop". Sure, the TPP members have been boisterous since 2009 but they were always careful to clean up their trash, keep profanity from their publications and were respectful on TV interviews and radio shows. Unlike the leftwing Occupy whatever de jour, those folks who are in my view, recycled hippies form the 60's, the TPP only wants a couple of things and that has to do with getting the government out of everyon;es lives. Well, except for the enumerated powers of course.
The Occupiers want free stuff, paid for by those that wotked hard to succeed and save. What a difference. So here we are with a changing of the guard here in Nevada County and I expect Nancy Garcia to maintain a vibrant, growing organization. Unlike the local occupiers who seem to be fading away, the TPP will be a force to be reckoned with. We at CABPRO wish them well. CABPRO has a much broader agenda but we do share the core values espoused by the TPP. We branch off into more activism on other issues, even social ones which the TPP doesn't push.
I expect this year to be the second major political year for the TPP and all the branches and subsets across America. The problems of debt, deficit, huge government and massive regiulations is shared even down to the smallest jurisdiction in our country. Heck, I was watching a cable show on some gold miners in remote Alaska this last week and they were being harassed by some federal agency and forced to close down until they recieved "further education". It did not matter the mining was going on there for 23 years. But the lesson was the fleas are everywhere and into everything.
We need to trim government, return it to a simple enumerated force, get back to state government and finally the people to run the place. We will all be fighting for that and I am happy Nancy Garcia and her TPP members are there fighting too.
