After listening to the news today that Obama is asking for another 1.2 trillion in the "debt ceiling" I wondered how we could start trimming things at the federal and state level to balance our budget. One area that should be overhauled are the myriad of non-profits here and elsewhere. One only needs to look at the environmental non-profits to see why the process is broken.
We plan to review and publish over time the research we do on non profits who are mainly funded with tax payers money directly and by generous liberal givers from trusts and others. It appears to us there is on its face a huge industry devoted to what appears to be a massive money laundering scheme. Could this be a way to take the money of many good intentioned people who want to save a warm fuzzy critter and use the money for political purposes? Many think so. Not only environmental groups do this however. Public employee unions and many "trusts" seem to choose organizations claiming benevolence while actually being political activists. Many of the heads of charitable sounding organizations get paid huge salaries and turn around and involve themselves clandestinely in political activities. We intend to carefully out those people and their institutions.
We will focus first on environmental organizations because in our view they are the most blatant in their utilization of the good intentioned money "granted" to them. They also seem to have a hegemonic hold on our tax money because the "grant" givers in government seem to be exclusively liberals. It is our experience that a conservative sounding or led organization's appeal for a grant goes into the round file without review. Some say these environmental scam non profits are now a ten to twenty BILLION dollar industry in the USA. They are now big business and have a lot to lose. Their unholy hold on the political ins of America must be reviewed and questioned if our country is to remain viable.
